Discord Voice Comms?

I'm seeing a lot of groups using Discord instead of TS. From what I can gather, there's a few advantages over TS.
A) It's free, and always will be (apparently)
B) It's a much newer program, so has overlay features built in.
C) One of those overlay features is a text window. Meaning Red could communicate without us taking the piss out of his squeaky voice worrying about his hearing being a problem. He could probably listen in, and gather what he can anyway. If he doesn't respond we could shout at him. Or do some angry typing.

I think I read that the UI is customisable, so you can make it look like your HUD.

Anyway, my only concern is that it's free. Is it full of ads and shite? Anyone used it before?  I might give it a shot tomorrow.

There's also a smartphone app, which seems to be highly rated. I'll download it and we can fuck around with it sometime.

I did. But they haven't made a text overlay for it yet so haven't been back to it. We have a TS channel though if you want to pop on. Anytime myself or Leo are on we're on there. Not going to be on this evening though. Early start in the morning and a long drive so need my sleep.
